Why This Comparison Exists
The Acquisition That Changed Everything
When Mindbody acquired Booker in 2018, thousands of massage therapists experienced the same thing: pricing structures changed, every additional location required a full separate subscription, and moving your own client data came with a fee.

Some Context
Built for a Different Business, From Day One
Mindbody wasn't originally built for massage therapy, or even for fitness in general. By its own co-founder's account, the platform started in 2000 as software for boutique fitness studios, yoga and Pilates studios specifically, first released under the name OmSoft.
Massage and spa support came later, added through an acquisition nearly two decades after the company was founded, as one piece of a much broader platform spanning gyms, dance studios, martial arts schools, and sports facilities.
